About Us

We are Michelle Beckett and Carrie Cooper. Together, we form a boutique, full-service editing duo offering experience, authority, and support to writers. From art to academics, we believe you should always write like it matters. And we’re here to help.

We are dedicated to helping academic, fiction, and creative nonfiction writers of all genres shape and refine text for publication.

PostScript is an equal opportunity company and we strive to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community. Our support for equity is grounded in a company-wide commitment to achieving a working environment that is free of discrimination and harassment. We do not discriminate in our hiring, compensating, or promoting practices, and we value partnerships from all backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Whoever you are, wherever you are (and wherever you’re from), we want to work with you.

Who We Are

* Michelle Beckettis a copy editor, copywriter, and proofreader and an avid art collector. She earned her bachelor of music degree at Western University, her master’s degree in social science at the University of Chicago, and also received a Certificate in Editing at the University of Chicago Graham School. She worked for many (many, many) years in the not-for-profit arts sector in Chicago and in Maine, before throwing her head and her heart into editing. She is very handy with a sewing machine but no, she will not hem your pants.

*Carrie Cooper

is an entrepreneur, copy editor, proofreader, artist, book maker, community builder, voracious reader, café lover, art supplies enthusiast, avid hiker, vegan foodie, would-be gardener, sun worshipper, yogi, insatiably curious human, facilitator of all things creative, and lover of ideas. She earned her bachelor of fine art degree at Herron School of Art and Design, and has certificates in editing from Indiana University-Indianapolis. After working many years growing a business in Chicago, she relocated to bucolic Bloomington and is currently working on her PhD in American Studies at Indiana University in Indianapolis. She (not so) secretly dreams of being a regular contributor to the New York Times Cooking section.
